Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets NF Kidney Function Wet Dog Food
Product details
Purina® Proplan® Veterinary Diets Canine NF Renal Function is a complete veterinary diet for dogs with chronic kidney disease. PPVD NF contains restricted amounts of phosphorus as this mineral can build up in kidney patients and has been shown to contribute to progression of the condition. It also contains limited amounts of high quality protein to help reduce the build-up of toxins, while helping to maintain muscle mass.
Omega-3 fatty acids also help maximise the natural anti-inflammatory processes and reduce blood pressure inside the kidney.
Note that PPVD NF is not suitable for dogs that require a high protein/phosphorus diet diet such as pregnant bitches or growing puppies.
Dietary phosphate restriction to support kidney function, helping to slow down progression of chronic kidney disease.
Restricted but high quality protein to help reduce the build-up of toxins in the body and therefore improve quality of life.

Why has the price risen so much?I was buying this product regularly for my dog who has kidney damage. Unfortunately the price has risen from £18 to £23.99 on this site and elsewhere. I can only assume it is the manufacturer cashing in on people with sick pets.

My elderly dog can tolerate this productMy elderly dog has been a fussy eater from 8 weeks old. I was worried that she would rather starve than eat this important food. So far almost two weeks in she is eating it although a bit less than she should do but her weight is maintained so she must be eating enough. From my own personal view it does look unappetising and I did not expect the appearance of it. I feel that if the smell of it was enhanced then dogs would eat it more willingly.
